1. Overview
This website is operated by Urban Sofa (“we”, “us”, “our”). Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Urban Sofa.
By accessing our website or purchasing our products and services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service (“Terms”).
If you do not agree, you may not access the website or use our services.
2. Nature of Our Business
Urban Sofa sources, collects, refreshes, and resells pre-loved sofas.
Unless otherwise stated:
All sofas are pre-owned.
Items may show minor wear consistent with age and prior use.
We are not the original manufacturer.
By purchasing from us, you acknowledge that you are buying a refurbished or pre-loved item.
3. Condition of Goods
We aim to accurately describe and photograph each sofa.
However:
Colours may vary due to lighting and screens.
Minor imperfections may not be visible in photos.
Dimensions are approximate.
All items are sold in their current condition as described at the time of sale.
4. Pricing & Payments
All prices are listed in AUD.
We reserve the right to:
Modify prices at any time
Refuse service to anyone
Cancel orders due to pricing errors
Payment must be received in full prior to delivery or pickup unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Delivery Terms
Delivery fees are calculated based on distance and access requirements.
Customer responsibilities:
Ensure clear access
Confirm doorway and stair clearance
Notify us of stairs, lifts, or restricted access
If delivery cannot be completed due to access issues:
A redelivery fee may apply
Delivery fees are non-refundable
Risk transfers to the customer upon delivery.
6. Sofa Collection / Pickup Service
If we collect a sofa from you:
You confirm you are the legal owner.
The sofa must match the condition described.
We reserve the right to refuse collection if unsafe, damaged beyond description, or unsanitary.
We may refuse collection at our discretion.
7. Refund & Returns Policy
Due to the nature of refurbished and pre-loved furniture:
All sales are final unless:
The item is significantly not as described.
The item is structurally unsafe.
Change-of-mind returns are not accepted.
Refund requests must be made within 24 hours of delivery.
8. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for major failures and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Our total liability is limited to the purchase price paid for the product.
We are not responsible for misuse, improper care, or modification after delivery.
10. Hygiene & Sanitisation
All sofas are professionally cleaned and sanitised prior to resale.
However, customers with allergies or sensitivities purchase at their own discretion.
11. Intellectual Property
All branding, logos, images, and content on this website are property of Urban Sofa and may not be reproduced without permission.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
